Future Developments at Shipston High School

The Tennis Academy is in need of indoor tennis facilities closer than the 28 miles of Esporta Club, Coventry. We have asked if Warwickshire County Council would, in principal, allow land to be released beyond the tennis courts at the High School for an indoor tennis facility to be built. This land is technically school playing field and we will not start spending money on surveyors, architects and planning applications unless we get a positive response from the Council. We envisage a 5 court facility with 4 courts being tennis dedicated (which would allow County events to be hosted) and the fifth being a multi-sports court. There would also be a changing, viewing and admin area. It would be a community facility with all courts available for hire, although the school and the Tennis Academy would have priority over other bookings.

If the County Council give this development a green light and we get planning permission it could well take 5 years or more for it to become a reality as we would need to get a high proportion of the cost in grants as repaying loans could be too much of a burden.
