Key
Facts about Ratings:
- Whether
you are a top performer or completely new to tennis, there is a rating
category suitable for you.
- Independant
of age, there are 20 rating bands within 10 divisions (1.1 being the
highest level and 10.2 the lowest).
- Your rating
is reassessed twice a year (in March and October).
- If you
are constantly beating players of the same rating or higher, whilst
not losing against too many players rated the same or lower, it is likely
your rating will increase.
- Highly
rated adults can only have their rating decreased at the end of the
summer (if rated 5.1 or higher). This will not happen in the winter
ratings run.
- No junior
players can go down a ratings.
- Players
over the age of 10 may get a rating.
Key
Facts about Rankings:
- Player
rankings operate within Open, 18, 16, 14 and 12 & Under age groups.
- Players
can have a ranking in more than one age group.
- Rankings
will be calculated using your best 6 tournament performances over a
rolling 12 month period.
- The
further you progress through a tournament draw, the more ranking points
you will accumulate (i.e. Reaching the semi-finals will be rewarded
with more ranking points than reaching the second round).
All
tournaments are now graded. The higher the grade, the more ranking points
are available.
There are 7 grades of tournament (Grade 1 being the highest).

5 - Results count for both Ratings and Rankings

Results count for Ratings only
